Preparing for Coffee Reading

First, it is important not to begin the reading while experiencing strong emotions such as anger, fear or frustration. Intense emotions can influence the interpretation and the shapes in the cup may simply reflect your emotional state rather than deeper symbolic messages.

Second, you should use a light-colored cup and saucer. White, cream or light beige cups are ideal because symbols and shapes are much easier to see against a light background.

Third, the coffee used for fortune telling should be plain black coffee. Sugar, milk or other additives should not be added. While unsweetened coffee may not be everyone’s favorite, it is considered necessary if you want the symbols to form clearly.

The Coffee Ritual

To begin, place three teaspoons of ground coffee into the cup.

While adding each spoon, say quietly:

• the first spoon — for the past

• the second spoon — for the present

• the third spoon — for the future

Allow the coffee to sit for a short moment. During this time, calm your mind and focus on the question or situation that concerns you the most.

Then slowly drink the coffee, leaving only the grounds at the bottom. Throughout the process the cup should be held in your left hand.

After finishing the coffee, gently rotate the cup a few times. Then turn it upside down onto a flat white saucer and leave it for about one minute.

Once the coffee grounds settle and dry slightly, the cup can be lifted and the symbols inside can be observed.

Now the most interesting part begins — interpreting the shapes.

Meaning of Common Coffee Ground Symbols

Circle

A circle usually represents relationships with other people. It suggests that you have the ability to build connections and make friends easily.

However, several circles grouped together may point toward financial matters. The more circles and dots appear, the greater the potential for financial improvement.

Square

A square symbol often indicates changes that may occur unexpectedly. These changes can appear in work, career or home life.

Although surprising, such shifts are often connected to new opportunities.

Triangle

A triangle is traditionally associated with career growth and achievement.

If several triangles appear together, it may suggest that success or financial reward is approaching. Sometimes it may even point to an unexpected bonus or recognition.

Oval

For someone who is single, an oval shape may symbolize marriage or a serious relationship.

For those who are already married, it can indicate the arrival of a new family member.

Lines

Straight lines usually represent good health and stability.

Wavy lines may symbolize travel or movement, while dotted lines can indicate expenses or financial spending.

House

The symbol of a house is strongly connected with family life.

If the outline of the house appears clear and well-defined, it suggests strong family foundations and stability.

If the house appears blurry or broken, it may symbolize disagreements or conflicts within the family environment.

While coffee reading can reveal interesting patterns, interpreting symbols correctly often requires experience and intuition. Many shapes may appear vague or difficult to understand without guidance.
